Snail post

Hey friends,
I've been missing for a gazillion weeks! I'm really sad about this. It's just that this thing called school (along with life) has been kicking my booty. To top it off for one of my classes this semester I had to keep a blog. The nerve of them...obviously my professors (all 3 of them) had no clue I was a horrible blog-tasker (multi-tasker of blogs). But hey, annoying as it was the semesters almost over and I've learned some new tricks and I'll be back with some new duds. I can't wait to see you.

...and friends, I hope all has been well with you - really I do.

p.s. So when did blogger make these changes? smh.

Phenomenal

Feeling Phenomenal?

Phenomenal. 5 X 7 Inspirational Art Print
©2011. Storied In Hue. All Rights Reserved.

I'm loving this print I designed! Why do I love it? It's inspiration - Maya Angelou's "Phenomenal Woman" Poem. Here's a sample of the 4th verse (my favorite):

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

31st Day Born.

Creepy Crawlers, Spooky Stories & tons of fun!!! ©2011. Storied In Hue.

These invites were design for a special young lady whose birthday is on a spooktacular day!
For the past two year's I've been blessed with the opportunity to design birthday celebration invites for this family. The mom usually calls me up and puts the daughter on the phone and we're off talking about her big day!

How fun or interesting it must be to have a birthday on the 31st of October! Anyone else born on last day of October? What have your experiences been? Fun or interesting - Do tell?

Home + the library

Home Sweet Home. Modern Art Print.
by Storied In Hue
Color: Berry Honeycomb. Size: 5"X7"

Home is where I'd like to be on this "hump day" doing absolutely nothing but watching a movie or two or possibly reading and dreaming about living in France and visiting my favorite online family at La Cressonnière while sipping my Level 3 coffee and having some sort of chocolate cake.

Ever have one of those days? I am definitely in need of  a push to Friday.

----On another note thinking back to the weekend...here's what happened at the library----

E: Mom, read me a book please.
Me: Okay, well lets sit here on this fancy recliner and read a book.
E: Okay

[we sit and I began to read the book. However, E decides he rather get another book...so I let him go and pick another book - he comes back with a new book]

Me: Okay, let's read!

[I began to read the book]

Me: Hmm E, this book is umm, mmm, interesting and very long
E: okay, I will go and get another one

[E gets up and runs to grab another book. In the process he passes two women]

E to the women: Hey, I will be right back okay! I got to get another book. Mommy doesn't like the one I got!

Lesson Learned/Reinforcements:
Your kid will tell your thoughts business to anyone!

Hello.

Source|Tasha Marie:Charmed
Welcome, to our new home. I hope you’ll enjoy our new space just as much as you did the last. Why the new blog you may wonder? Well, for a while I had been going back and forth on blogging and trying to figure out exactly what I want to accomplish with my blog and blogging.

I started off in the blogging word blogging about design. I then moved onto blogging about my life and my new love, my son (and parenting) under Beeka-Beeka.com. I consistently struggled with the two - trying to figure out if I should integrate my two blogs or if I should blog on each topic separately. I've read and continue to read many blogs on blogging and growing your blog.  Some of the things I've read are lessons learned and some lessons, well, I’m still learning. I believe though out of all the blog posts I've read about blogging 99.7% of them suggest one stays true to him/herself when blogging.

So with that being said, I’ve moved myself into a new home and am blogging about the two things that I feel are celebrated and loved in my eyes - life's journey (including my kid) and design (because no matter how hard one tries he/she can never stray from his/her background).  So I ask that you bare with me on my new venture – some days I may be on a straight path and other days a curvilinear path. If you have any tips or concerns during my journey…do let me know. And for the record, although it’s hard, I promise not to talk too much about my son.

So again, welcome to my new place!
