Christmas Lists.

Most of us have written a Christmas list at some point in our life, whether it be as a child or as an adult.
I remember writing lists when I was a child and having my list mailed off to jolly ol' Saint Nick.
I was never late with my list, never ever!
Funny things is, I can't remember when I stopped writing Christmas lists.

This year I tasked my son with writing his first official list.
I thought this would be a good way to get him to practice writing...as well as give me an idea of what he likes.
It only took week to receive this list, which was never fully written...
Actually the list was blurted out to me when I asked if it was ready.

After hearing this list, I had to explain to the kid that he wasn't going to receive everything he demanded - I meant asked for. I told him that mommy just wanted an idea of what sorts of things he liked because his mom was horrible and as a slightly new 4 year old I really just don't know what kids this age like.

What I did know is that he was NOT getting anymore Matchbox cars or trains! I keep tripping over the darn things! I think my ankles and feet have had enough. Now that I think of it, this kids has gifts from his birthday that he hasn't opened. Hmmm, just kidding.

Okay, back to the list...
So what this kid asked for was not cars, nor books, crayons, pencils, trains, etc...you know the good stuff.
He asked for:
  1. an IPad;
  2. a Tablet;
  3. a Kindle;
  4. a DS3; and
  5. My mom's neighbors house w/ the christmas lights attached

...Sigh. I definitely didn't make lists like this back in the day!

+++++++
What are your kids requesting this year? Who's on the naughty list? Who's on the nice list?

As a parent it has been extremely hard for me to discuss the recent Connecticut tragedy.
My prayers are with the family's who lost a loved one.
