39 Love.
Okay, so it's the day after my birthday.
I have to say yesterday was filled with a few surprises. The biggest of them all my son remembering to tell me happy birthday, taking me to dinner, along with presenting me with a few gifts. I know, he's only 4 and my mom made that possible but, it was special! I also received roses from my uncle that I hadn't talked to in over a year...definitely a treat.
So here's to turning 39 and all the wonder surprises along the way.

[Happy] New Year.
Happy New Years from the neighborhood of Hampden Hon'...a small but big piece of Baltimore.
Due to lack of planning and wanting to be lazy we didn't plan for anything in particular on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, boredom and very talkative kid got us out of the house for a small drive.
To our surprise this small drive turned into a big event. New Year's Eve on 34th Street, Baby New Year and all (that's another story).
It was frigid wet with champagne and there were 1,000's of people which made for a great community and conversation. We loved it!

Christmas Lists.
image via
Most of us have written a Christmas list at some point in our life, whether it be as a child or as an adult.
I remember writing lists when I was a child and having my list mailed off to jolly ol' Saint Nick.
I was never late with my list, never ever!
Funny things is, I can't remember when I stopped writing Christmas lists.
This year I tasked my son with writing his first official list.
I thought this would be a good way to get him to practice writing...as well as give me an idea of what he likes.
It only took week to receive this list, which was never fully written...
Actually the list was blurted out to me when I asked if it was ready.
After hearing this list, I had to explain to the kid that he wasn't going to receive everything he demanded - I meant asked for. I told him that mommy just wanted an idea of what sorts of things he liked because his mom was horrible and as a slightly new 4 year old I really just don't know what kids this age like.
What I did know is that he was NOT getting anymore Matchbox cars or trains! I keep tripping over the darn things! I think my ankles and feet have had enough. Now that I think of it, this kids has gifts from his birthday that he hasn't opened. Hmmm, just kidding.
Okay, back to the list...
So what this kid asked for was not cars, nor books, crayons, pencils, trains, etc...you know the good stuff.
He asked for:
- an IPad;
- a Tablet;
- a Kindle;
- a DS3; and
- My mom's neighbors house w/ the christmas lights attached
...Sigh. I definitely didn't make lists like this back in the day!
+++++++
What are your kids requesting this year? Who's on the naughty list? Who's on the nice list?

Birthdays.
Today is my birthday.
Today I turned...
I thank you, friends, for all your birthday wishes as well.
Again, I'm blessed and thankful.
Today I turned...
Today my son greets me with, " Happy Birthday mommie, mommie tuna head."
So it's come to this - I'm a year older and I'm a tuna head.
Most importantly,
I'm blessed and thankful.
Again, I'm blessed and thankful.

Winston Howes.
A hopeless romantic + 6,000 oak trees in the shape of heart = a tribute to Winston Howes late wife.
Inhabitat 7/17/22012
When Howe's wife passed away over a decade ago, he meticulously planned and planted the oak trees around a six-acre field of grass to create the heart shape, with the design’s bottom tip pointing in the direction of his wifes childhood home in Wotton Hill.
A tall hedge of daffodils surrounds the heart’s perimeter that creates an unmistakable warm yellow glow that planes and hot air ballooners alike cannot miss. Read more of the story here.

1 + 12...Remembering the King of Pop
(Image Source: Smooth Criminal Video Image)
Everyone's been talking about M.J. as he passed last June. I had been thinking about what my favorite M.J. song was. Of course I couldn't - remember I attempted that here. Again, I had to think real hard because there were just too many. The man was amazing. I still remember seeing him and his brothers on their Victory Tour in D.C. oooh way back some time ago. It was awesome. I almost missed it - got in trouble - cut my bangs (or hair for those that aren't familiar with that term).
Okay, wait, I got off track. Nevertheless, here is my favorite M.J. song + 12 other M.J. songs on the high list (7 days later).
Drum Roll......................
#1 - Smooth Criminal which was the seventh single from Michael Jackson's 1987 Bad album. The song was released as a single on October 21, 1988 and peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100.
+12 other favorites:
- Rock With You
- P.Y.T
- The Girl Is Mine
- Thriller
- Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
- They Don't Care About Us
- Black or White
- Remember the Time
- Man In The Mirror
- Scream
- Butterflies
- Break of Dawn
++++
What are you favorites? What memories of Michael Jackson do you have?
