School Is Cool

...however, finals are not!

Oh how I wish I could have one of these,
but for now I'm buried in books!

Giving Thanks.

"Thankful Crown," E.K.F - November 21, 2011

As Thanksgiving day approaches there are a number of things that I am thankful for among them are a great network of friends and a supportive family. Apparently, my son is thankful for the light on his train - as pictured in the crown about made at school (which we just realized had a light on it a week ago after owning the train for over a year). Although my son is three, I did make him aware that there are other things to be thankful for.  Afterwards he told me he was thankful for his family...his train light, and Elmo.

I pray that everyone has a meaningful and great Thanksgiving no matter how they celebrate the holiday.
Let's remember to be thankful for the blessings that are bestowed upon us 356 days a year (even the ones we think aren't good) and not just on the day that's set aside for celebrating.

+++What are you thankful for this year? How have you shown your gratitude in the past year?+++

-Gratitude Quotes-
When I started counting my blessings,
my whole life turned around.

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice”

Phenomenal

Feeling Phenomenal?

I'm loving this print I designed! Why do I love it? It's inspiration - Maya Angelou's "Phenomenal Woman" Poem. Here's a sample of the 4th verse (my favorite):

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

the 99% and Bittersweet Symphony

...irony?

I am here in my mind
But I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no, no, no,no,no,no,no,no(fading away)

Well I never pray
But tonight I'm on my knees yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airways are clean and there's nobody singing to me now

No change, I can't change
I can't change, I can't change
But I'm here in my mind
I am here in my mind
And I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
I can't change
I can't change it

'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
Trying to make ends meet
Trying to find some money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places
where all the veins meet yeah

You know I can't change, I can't change
I can't change, I can't change
But I'm here in my mind
I am here in my mind
And I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no

I can't change my mind
no, no, no, no, no,
I can't change
Can't change my body,
no, no, no

I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
Been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
That you've ever been down
That you've ever been down
