Exchange.

I'll definitely have what she's having! I wouldn't be mad about exchanging outfits today (or any other day)!

Check out what else Karla has in her closet.
I don't think she'd mind a friendly note if you decided to leave one.

Home Inspiration.

I've been trying to come up with a design concept for my sons room - something modern yet traditional, a little boyish but not.  Makes no sense huh? I know the politics of decorating...one could go on for days!
I did an online search of kids bedroom design ideas or something of the sort and during my very short search (short attention span), I came across the two rooms pictured below (HI FIVE!).

A bunk room that sleeps four boys w/a vintage bathroom
door that reads "gentlemen" separates the boys'
bedroom from the bathroom area.
Photo: Laurey W. Glenn, from Southern Living

A coastal vacation home.  The children's bunkroom is decorated
with a tropical color palette of sunshine yellow, cobalt, lime and tangerine.
Designer: Phillip Sides

Seeing these two pictures brought back childhood memories of me and my cousins when we were kids. I have no siblings...well I  call my cousins my siblings because we grew up together.  At one point or another we all lived together.  However, I don't think our bedrooms were this great!  Oh how I wish they were (oh the 70's).  I then thought about my cousin and her kids. She has four (4) kids and we always talk about redecorating the kids rooms. More so, I always try to talk her into buying a larger home so that her kids could have a shared bedroom. She hasn't moved (after years of conversations)...so as you can imagine my persuasion isn't going well!

Anyway, my search didn't go very far because I remembered another project I was supposed to be working! However, I really liked both of these design ideas and maybe sharing these images with you will inspire me to work harder on coming up with some design concepts for my son? Maybe I should give myself a deadline? Well just maybe...but not before I finish that last project.

Happy day!

Winter ode to spring.

Not another love song but an ode...to spring

(Source: Anthropologie.com, The New Nautical)

with all this snow in sight,

Oh how I'm dreaming of that day,
so far away but so near,

where I will be by the water once again...

catching sum rays
enjoying the spring breeze,

laughing and playing with my little busy bee.
